Healthy Tasmania Strategic Plan

Healthy Tasmania is the Government's plan for preventive health in Tasmania. The Plan brings together communities, services and all levels of government to work in partnership for improved health and wellbeing.

We have built on the evidence and lessons from the first five years of Healthy Tasmania from 2016–2021 and have consulted widely with the community to inform our next steps.

Healthy Tasmania's vision is for all Tasmanians to have the opportunity to live healthy, active lives in communities that support connections to people, place and culture.

To achieve our vision, our actions will focus on supporting Tasmanians to be more connected in their communities, have positive mental health and wellbeing, limit harmful alcohol use, be smoke free, eat well, and live more active lives.

With a focus on priority populations and health literacy, we will make sure no person is left behind.

Climate change and health is also a focus area of the Plan, acknowledging the impacts of climate change on health and wellbeing, and ensuring our strategies will positively contribute to the climate change goals of this Government.
