Visiting hours

10:00am - 8:00pm
All visitors must comply with requests from staff.

  • Approval for visits outside these hours need to be discussed with the Director of Nursing on (03) 6478 9514.
  • If you are unwell, please do not visit unless you have approval from the Director of Nursing.
  • No food or drink to be consumed by visitors in patient's rooms.
  • Please sanitise your hands when entering and leaving the facility.

Our services

The Hospital provides the Smithton Community with 12 acute care beds, an Accident and Emergency Service, midwifery clinic and Visiting Services such as Radiology, Physiotherapy, Counselling, Mental Health, Alcohol & Drug, Podiatry, Diabetic, optometry, audiology, and Obstetric Clinics.

A range of community services are also provided from the hospital including Community Health Nursing, Home Help/Personal Care and HACC nail care clinic.

Response to proposed action by the ANMF

The Department of Health acknowledges the proposed action taken by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation and reassures the Tasmanian community that they should continue to seek hospital-level care if they require it.
