Tasmanian Nurses and Midwives Honour Roll
About the Tasmanian Nurses and Midwives Honour Roll
The Tasmanian Nurses and Midwives Honour Roll was established in 2020 by the Department of Health as a signature event to celebrate “2020 International Year of the Nurse and Midwife”. The Honour Roll recognises Tasmanian nurses and midwives who have made an outstanding contribution to their professions.
Nurses and midwives who were born, trained or who have worked a significant period of their professional career in Tasmania, and who have made a substantial contribution to nursing and midwifery professions can be nominated.
Some nurses and midwives who are inducted into the Tasmanian Nurses and Midwives Honour Roll may be recognised for their work at the “hands on” clinical level, while others may have had an impact on the nursing and midwifery profession in a different domain of professional practice. All nurses and midwives who are inducted to the Honour Roll are exemplary in their achievements and demonstrate an exceptional contribution to their profession and to the Tasmanian community.
The degree and value of the contribution, rather than merely length of service will be an important focus of the judging panel.
