Respiratory Surveillance Report

The COVID-19 Surveillance report has been updated to present data on influenza-like-illness, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and other circulating respiratory viruses, in addition to COVID-19. This report, known as the Respiratory Surveillance Report, will be published from Friday 28 April 2023.
The Respiratory Surveillance Report is published fortnightly with data from across the state of Tasmania (with data current to the Sunday prior). Tasmania’s Weekly COVID-19 Statistics will still be published each Friday.
The report provides an overview of the current epidemiology of COVID-19, influenza-like illness (fever and cough), influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and other circulating respiratory viruses in Tasmania with a focus on cases notified to Public Health Services since 1 January 2023.
The report includes trends in community-based influenza-like illness, case notifications and rates per 1,000 people, PCR testing, hospitalisations and deaths, whole genome sequencing and virology. The report presents data by age and region, and trends over time in the last four weeks and data for 2023 year-to-date.
