Three Royal Hobart Hospital doctors-in-training have been recognised for their exceptional contribution to health services in southern Tasmania in the annual Junior Medical Officer (JMO) of the Year Awards.
The awards are given each year to acknowledge the skill, commitment and growth of doctors-in-training over the last 12 months.
The winners are:
- Intern of the Year – Dr Chris Alexander
- Resident Medical Officer of the Year – Dr Victoria Murton
- Registrar of the Year – Dr Clare Rayner
The awards are nominated and voted for by medical, nursing and allied health professionals from across the hospital.
Voting is based on a doctor’s all-round performance, including communication skills, clinical judgement and skills, and relationships with staff, patients and relatives.
This month, new interns have started across Tasmania and doctors-in-training with more than one year experience have moved onto their next rotations to continue their training journey.
