Opening from Monday 11 December, the Devonport Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) is a dedicated medical facility designed to provide ready access to non-emergency medical care.
Operated by My Clinic Plus, the Medicare UCC will make it easier for people in the Devonport region to get the urgent treatment they need – Staffed by highly qualified doctors and nurses – will take pressure off the Mersey Community Hospital.
The clinic specialises in treating a range of urgent health issues that are significant yet not severe enough to necessitate a visit to a hospital emergency department.
Understanding the need for flexible healthcare access, the Devonport Medicare Urgent Care Clinic will be open for extended hours, 7 days a week, and offer walk-in care that is fully bulk billed - for operating hours go to My Clinic Plus
This schedule ensures that patients can receive timely medical care during weekends and outside typical business hours, which is particularly beneficial for those with busy schedules or unexpected medical needs.
Approximately 57 per cent of presentations to the Mersey Community Hospital are for non-urgent or semi-urgent care.
This Medicare UCC will join three clinics already operational, with two in Hobart and one in Launceston.
