Transgender Services

For people aged 15 and above

Tasmanian Statewide Sexual Health Services offers a multidisciplinary team to assist people 15 years and older with any gender concerns.

Our service provides support to anyone with gender queries.

A number of appointments may be necessary; which may include routine visits for check-ups, blood tests and reviews. Many people will have an affirming/additional appointment with a specialist psychiatrist.

A GP referral is preferred – this allows a more collaborative approach to your care.

The transgender process of appointments does take time and on occasions there can be up to a six month wait to see specialists.

We are committed to ensuring you have a positive journey and can also refer you to other support services if required.
