Speech Pathology - Community
Community Speech Pathology is provided in Southern Tasmania through the Swallowing Nutrition and Communication Services (SNACS) team. The team offers assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders for adults living in Southern Tasmania. Education is also provided to clients, support people and community members on an individual basis or through regular courses on topics such as Supporting Communication and Texture Modified Diets.
Community Speech Pathologists work in community health centres at Clarence, Glenorchy, Huonville, Kingston, New Norfolk and Sorell. We may also offer appointments on request at other rural centres in Southern Tasmania such as Oatlands and Triabunna.

Service Eligibility
The service is available for adults living in Southern Tasmania. We are not an NDIS provider.
To access publicly funded speech pathology services for children, please contact St Giles or your child’s school.
Cost Information
There is no cost to individual clients for these services, however fees are charged to third party compensable clients eg. Department of Veterans' Affairs.
