We regularly have Medical, Nursing and Radiation Therapy students at the Northern Cancer Service.
Clinical placements are an important part of training for students, we aim to create a welcoming and supportive learning environment for them. We encourage patients and their families to share their stories and experiences of treatment with students, these real-life experiences are a valuable part of their training.
Students should always identify themselves to you and seek permission to be involved in your care.
We respect people’s privacy and understand that having students involved in appointments and treatment is not always going to be suitable for everyone. It’s okay to say you don’t want students involved in your care. please just let your treating team know what is best for you.
