Visitors to the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) are advised of temporary access changes that affect the connection between Wellington Centre / Argyle Street Car Park and the Royal Hobart Hospital starting on Friday, 7 March 2025.
The Department of Health is doing essential upgrades to the fire systems in the RHH H-Block that require temporary access changes.
From 1:00 pm Friday 7 March 2025 until 4:00 pm Friday, 21 March 2025, there will be no visitor / patient access from Level 2 of H Block to any other parts of RHH.
- Visitors who normally use the airbridge between the RHH and the Wellington Clinics or the Argyle Street Car Park will need to detour to the Liverpool Street or Campbell Street entrances at street level instead.
- Visitors to the Physiotherapy outpatient services on Level 2 of H Block will only be able to access the clinic using the airbridge from Wellington Clinics. Lift and stairwell access to Level 2 from within the RHH will be closed.
We are asking people to allow extra time if moving between these areas.
Signs and maps will be in place to direct people to alternative routes to the main entrances.
We thank people for their patience while we complete these essential works. Normal access between the RHH and Wellington Centre is scheduled to be restored from 4:00 pm on Friday, 21 March once works on Level 2 of H-Block are completed.
Further updates will be provided on the Department of Health website at www.health.tas.gov.au/hospitals/royal-hobart-hospital
