The new Glenorchy Ambulance Super Station is now fully operational, marking a major milestone for emergency services in the Southern region.
Purpose-built to support a growing population and increasing demand for ambulance services, the $14.45 million facility provides paramedics with the space, resources, and infrastructure they need to respond quickly and efficiently.
The modern station features a larger garage accommodating up to 18 ambulances, improved facilities for paramedics, and direct access to the Brooker Highway to allow for faster and safer emergency responses.
Last year, paramedics based in Glenorchy were dispatched to over 7000 incidents, making it one of the most active stations in the state.

Ambulance Tasmania Chief Executive, Jordan Emery, said the new station had been designed with both paramedics and the community in mind.
“The Super Station has been built for the way we work today and the demands we know are coming."
This investment also supports Ambulance Tasmania’s ongoing workforce expansion. With state-of-the-art training spaces and improved amenities, the station provides the working environment they need to prepare for and recover from demanding shifts.
"Investing in modern infrastructure ensures we can continue providing the right care, in the right place, at the right time for Tasmanians."
The Glenorchy Ambulance Super Station is the second its kind, following the opening of the Burnie Ambulance Super Station in the state's North West in November 2024.
