How to speak up
For children and young people
If you feel unsafe or if you are unhappy with how you have been treated by us please let us know. It is always ok to speak up if you are not happy.
You should speak up...
- If you don't feel safe.
- If you're being hurt.
- If you're unhappy with the way you're being treated.
If you feel unsafe or at risk and need help urgently, call the Police on 000.
Reporting concerns of inappropriate behaviour
Use this form to report concerns of inappropriate behaviour by a staff member, volunteer, visitor, patient or other person within Tasmania’s health care services or premises.
Find support
Find someone you trust like a parent, friend or teacher that can help you make a complaint.
Tell your support person
- Why you’re not happy
- How the problem made you feel
- What would help to fix it.
Raise your concern
Get a support person to help you raise your concern. You can ask for information:
- What will happen next?
- Who will get back to me and my support person?
- How long will it take?
And remember, adults should always listen, answer your questions and treat you with respect.
If you feel unsafe or at risk and need help urgently, call the Police on 000.
