Child Safety and Wellbeing Framework
A Child Safety and Wellbeing Framework has been drafted to outline the proposed approach to safeguarding children and young people accessing our services and facilities.
The draft Framework sets out how we are proposing to address the ten National Principles for Child Safe Organisations established by the Australian Human Rights Commission. It includes proposed rights of children and young people, a definition of safeguarding in the Department of Health, governance arrangements, education and training approaches, and responding to safeguarding concerns.
The Framework is supported by guidelines on recognising the signs of harm to children and young people and disclosures of harm.
