Tasmanian Drug Strategy 2022-2027
Have your say on the next Tasmanian Drug Strategy
Due to public interest in providing feedback on the draft Tasmanian Drug Strategy 2022-2027, we are extending the community consultation for a further two weeks.
Submissions now close Monday 18 July 2022.
The Tasmanian Drug Strategy is a whole-of-government and whole-of-community strategy.
It aims to create a Tasmania where people make healthy choices about alcohol, tobacco and other drugs use, and can access support where and when they need it.
To achieve this, it provides a framework to:
- guide collaborative action and activities across both the Government and community sectors, and
- support agencies and organisations to consider the impacts of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD) use and harm in their strategic policy responses.
Developing the next Tasmanian Drug Strategy
The Department is leading the development of the next Tasmanian Drug Strategy through the Interagency Drug Policy Committee (IDPC). Extensive industry consultation has taken place and a community consultation is underway.
Following the community consultation, the draft strategy will be revised and then progress through Government for endorsement. The new Tasmanian Drug Strategy is expected to be launched in late 2022.
