The Derwent Valley Council provides a range of programs and services, targeting children, young people with disabilities, and aged and frail people.

Children services provided by the Derwent Valley Council include:

  • Family day care
  • Long day care
  • Outside school hours care
  • Vacation care.

Glengrey Respite Centre is funded through the Home and Care Program, and is sponsored by Derwent Valley Council. The service covers the Derwent Valley region, from Granton to Maydena.

Clients are picked up from home, and returned home after they have had the day out.

We offer a range of activities including promotion of good health and well-being, exercises (sitting down), relaxation, aromatherapy, discussions, quizzes, craft, gardening, bingo, theme days, foot and hand massage, music afternoons, weekly outings, and a yearly holiday.

A fee schedule applies for childrens services. Appointments are required. Services are offered 8am- 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Glengrey Respite Centre operates 10am - 3pm Monday to Thursday.

A fee of $10 per day is incurred for the Glengrey Respite Centre program.
